Bamboo Solar Wheelchair from Dr. C.V. Raman University Wins 2nd Place at RNTU Research Summit 2024 In a proud achievement for Dr. C.V. Raman University, Khandwa, the innovative student project titled “Bamboo-Based Solar-Powered Wheelchair”, designed by Jay Suryavanshi and Hammar Singh, earned the 2nd prize at the prestigious RNTU Shodh Shikhar 2024 – International Research and Innovation Conference held at Rabindranath Tagore University, Bhopal. Crafted from sustainable bamboo materials and powered by solar energy, the project was recognized for its innovation, affordability, and practical application in rural areas. The students' idea was especially appreciated for supporting the divyang (specially-abled) community, aligning with national goals like Atmanirbhar Bharat and Green Innovation. The wheelchair, which functions using solar power and features an eco-friendly bamboo frame, stood out for its unique combination of traditional material with modern technology. This recognition highlights the innovation culture and real-world problem-solving skills nurtured at Dr. C.V. Raman University. The achievement was also featured in the media, bringing honor to the students, faculty mentors, and the institution as a whole.

Dr. Seema Sharma Recognized at EWIOS – A National Platform for Women Innovators

Dr. Seema Sharma had the proud opportunity to represent Madhya Pradesh as one of the three selected women innovators at the prestigious national-level platform, EWIOS (Exposition of Women Innovation and its Outreach for Sustainability). The event was held at Godhra, Gujarat, and was organized by the Prasansa Foundation, supported and catalyzed by NCSTC-DST, Government of India.

At this remarkable platform, women innovators from across all Indian states presented their pioneering ideas. Dr. Sharma had the honor to showcase her project idea, which received appreciation and recognition. It was a moment of immense joy when her idea was ranked in the 4th category, and she was awarded a consolation prize along with prize money.

This achievement not only highlighted the innovative spirit of women in Madhya Pradesh but also encouraged Dr. Seema Sharma to take her idea forward for broader impact and implementation.

“Calcium Oxalate-Depleted Taro Flour: A Natural Improver for PDS Flour”

Short Description:
This research explores the use of calcium oxalate-reduced taro flour as a value-adding supplement to improve the nutritional and functional quality of Public Distribution System (PDS) wheat flour. The study was conducted under the Research and Innovation Cell and involved practical formulation and testing at the university level.

Atul Patil, representing Dr. C.V. Raman University, Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, achieved remarkable success by winning 1st Prize in six different categories at the International Film Festival (IFF – Life Through Lens) held on 8th–9th May 2025 at Govt. Post Graduate College, Gopeshwar (Chamoli), Uttarakhand. His award-winning film, titled "The Paradigm Shift – Bringing Research into Use", received top honors across the following categories:

My research titled “Unleashing the Potential of Indigenous Technical Knowledge Among the Korku, with Special Reference to Herbal Medicine” was awarded First Prize for Best Poster Presentation at the prestigious STREE 2024 National Conference and Expo, held on 6th–8th December 2024 at MANIT (Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology), Bhopal.

The event brought together researchers, innovators, and entrepreneurs from across the nation, and it was an honor to be recognized among such a talented community. The research focuses on documenting and promoting traditional Korku tribal knowledge, especially in the domain of herbal medicine, aiming to bridge the gap between indigenous wisdom and scientific innovation.

This recognition strengthens the resolve to continue working toward the preservation, validation, and sustainable use of ethnic knowledge systems.
